Two years ago a salamander wandered into our garage. Little did he know, he would stay in our kitchen for these past two years. The kids were quite fascinated by this worm-gulping creature. Evan thought he had big “claws” and the name stuck. He lived exclusively on earthworms and meal worms.

Now with a pair of cats that are easier to cuddle with, it was time for Big Claws to move on from our bare earth terrarium to a new and better home with one of the tenants that lives in the same apartment complex as Oliver in town. Here are a few photos of the kids saying goodbye.
