This post has been a long-time in the “making”.  We have just added 5 types of raw honey container products to our online shop for pre-orders, with preset quantity limits on each.

2015-09-09 update: Pre-orders have officially closed and converted over into regular orders. You can disregard some of the bullets below that only related to pre-orders, but pre-ordered honey is now ready for pickup.

Here are some helpful notes as we launch:

• You can go to our shop page and use the controls just like on other e-commerce sites to purchase a product or products. The website may be slow – please be patient for pages to load.
• The extraction is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8. At that point, we can begin filling the orders, as well as remove the “pre-order” designation for the online products and adjust stock quantity based on actual honey availability. (done)
• When you go through the checkout process, you will see options for local pickup or local delivery. We prefer local pickup, but are testing out the delivery option for an added charge in case there is a demand for this service and it turns out to be workable for us. We reserve the right to remove this option at any time, however.
• For local pickup, the online screens and emails you get will all give our address as the pickup location. However, some of you will be able to take advantage of a couple other pickup locations – like Calvary Evangelical Free church. We will be in touch with you about your order if one of these options is available.
• When you place an order, you will receive an email confirming the order that you placed. When your order is ready for pickup/delivery, you should receive another email indicating the order is “complete” and ready for pickup.
• We do not have the online store setup at this time to handle shipping to other locations. Honey is both heavy and not the easiest to package. If you need it shipped, please contact us and we will arrange the pricing and shipping method with you on a case-by-case basis.
• The online order system supports both cash/check payments made on delivery or pickup, and also immediate payment via paypal services. Paypal can handle your credit card with or without a paypal account, or it can pay from your paypal account. We actually prefer cash or check because paypal charges Our Bright Acres a fee for each transaction, but we wanted to keep this option open to you. For check payments, please make it out to Our Bright Acres.
• We will do our best to match the online stock availability with what we actually have, but we cannot guarantee availability. If we are unable to fulfill your order, we will refund any $$ paid with our regrets. For paypal orders, we reserve the right to refund with cash.
• We realize that for some of you (especially those that have ordered from us in the past), this online process is an added burden of clicking through the screens and filling out all the profile/order information. But this is going to help us immensely for consistency and in keeping track of orders/customers. If you use the option to create an account/profile on our website, then you should be able to pull up all your personal information with that login for orders in future years.
• If an item is listed as out-of-stock, don’t panic. First, there may be other raw honey container types still available. Second, if you really need a particular size or type, contact us and we may be able to shift stock from one container to another. We reserve the right to change the in-stock quantities at any time. Third, we may find our pre-order limits were conservative and make more honey available after Sept 9. That said, we anticipate selling out quickly, so get your order in today! 🙂
