August garden produce
The wait for produce is worth it. I guess it starts coming in pretty fast with zucchini, peas, and beans. But August is a big month and beans keep coming 🙂 They are great on the grill with a little olive oil on aluminum foil! I wish the sweetcorn lasted longer, but the hybrids ensure they ripen pretty evenly and I don’t have the stamina to stagger a new planting every week in the spring.
Kids love sweetcorn raw too, of course. I think we’ll just be doing sh2 varieties from now on.
Aidan has his sweetcorn shucking work cut out for him, I think.
Jana put a lot of time into the carrots this year and they turned out nice!
